Following the success of hosting the first official Scottish National Gravel Championships, we are delighted to bring the first ever British National Gravel Championships to Ae Forest on 22–23 August.

Nestled in the heart of the Southern Uplands, Ae Forest is one of the UK’s premier riding destinations. Its vast network of fast forest roads, flowing gravel tracks and technical off-road sections creates racing that is challenging, dynamic and relentlessly engaging. Long climbs, sweeping descents and constantly changing surfaces provide the ideal terrain on which to crown Britain’s first national gravel champions.

This landmark event is about far more than racing. Across the weekend, Ae Forest will host a full gravel festival atmosphere, with live music, talks, workshops and a range of additional ride experiences designed to keep riders, supporters and families entertained on and off the bike.

The race programme will see youth racing take place on Saturday, with senior championship racing on Sunday, ensuring a weekend that celebrates the future and the pinnacle of British gravel cycling alike.

Set against classic Dumfries & Galloway scenery - rolling hills, remote landscapes and a deep-rooted outdoor culture - the British National Gravel Championships at Ae Forest promise an unforgettable weekend of racing, community and adventure.

Alongside the racing, the event village will be alive throughout the day with a packed programme of activities for riders, families and spectators. Expect a mix of workshop sessions, guided and led rides, talks from across the cycling and outdoor world, and live music creating a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere from morning through to evening.

With camping and parking available on site, Saturday is the perfect opportunity to settle in, explore the forest, soak up the festival vibe and be part of the build-up to senior championship racing on Sunday.

Day 2 marks the pinnacle of the weekend, with Elite and Senior championship racing taking centre stage at the British National Gravel Championships. The UK’s top gravel athletes will line up in Ae Forest to battle for national titles, championship jerseys and a place in British cycling history.

Riders will take on a demanding course that showcases Ae Forest’s fast forest roads, technical gravel tracks and decisive climbs. The terrain rewards power, tactical racing and off-road skill, creating a true national championship test worthy of crowning Britain’s first Elite gravel champions.

Beyond the racing, the event village will be in full swing throughout the day, with live music, talks and festival programming continuing alongside the on-course action, delivering an electric atmosphere for riders, supporters and spectators alike.

With camping and parking available on site, Sunday rounds off a landmark weekend of racing, community and celebration at the home of British gravel.
